Selection Process for SSC Constable GD
The SSC Constable GD selection process is designed with multiple stages to ensure that candidates meet the necessary standards for the role. The process consists of the following stages:

Candidates who have applied for the 39,481 Constable GD vacancies will first participate in a Computer-Based Examination.

2. Syllabus for Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
A) General Intelligence and Reasoning
This section assesses the candidate’s ability to think logically and detect patterns. The questions may include topics like analogies, differences, spatial visualization, coding-decoding, and arithmetic reasoning. Non-verbal reasoning is a significant part of this section.
B) General Knowledge and General Awareness
This section tests a candidate’s knowledge of current events and general surroundings. The topics include sports, history, culture, geography, politics, and economics, especially with a focus on India and its neighboring countries. The questions are designed to assess general knowledge without needing specialized study.
C) Elementary Mathematics
This section covers fundamental mathematical concepts like number systems, decimals, fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, time and work, profit and loss, and mensuration. Basic arithmetic problems will be asked.
D) English / Hindi
This segment assesses the candidate’s understanding and comprehension of basic English or Hindi.
Phase 3: Physical Standard Test (PST)
Following the Computer Based Examination (CBE), candidates will proceed to the Physical Standard Test (PST) administered by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The specified physical standards are as follows:

Phase 4: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who clear the PST are required to pass the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) which measures endurance through the following tasks:

Phase 5: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
Upon successfully passing the PET, candidates will undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) conducted by medical boards of the CAPFs to ensure compliance with all medical standards required for the post.
If a candidate is found medically unfit during the DME, they will be given an opportunity for a Review Medical Examination (RME).
