Eligibility Criteria Eligible Educational Institutes Students must be enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate degree program in one of the following types of institutions: Universities/Colleges/Institutes recognized under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, with valid NAAC accreditation. Course and Mode of Study Courses Covered: General degree courses, technical and professional courses, including medical and paramedical courses. Mode of Study: Only regular/full-time courses are eligible. Exclusions: Students pursuing courses through open universities, distance learning, correspondence, private, part-time modes, or diploma courses not leading to a degree are not eligible. Family Income The annual family income should not exceed ₹4.5 lakh. Domicile Requirement Applicants must possess a valid domicile certificate from any state in the North Eastern Region (NER). Exclusions The following categories are not eligible for the Ishan Uday Scholarship: Students enrolled in courses through open universities. Those already availing scholarships under other schemes for undergraduate programs. Students who have gained admission through management quota. Students pursuing diploma courses that do not lead to a degree. Applicants whose family income exceeds ₹4.5 lakh per annum. Distribution of Slots State-wise Allocation: Slots are distributed among the NER states based on the latest population census. Reallocation: Unfilled slots due to a lack of eligible candidates in a state will be redistributed among other states.
